In case you hadn’t heard, The Farm Stratford is heading into a new chapter after being acquired by Cobbs Farm Co.
Founded by the Wells family in 2019, The Farm near Snitterfield has built itself an epic reputation, supplying top-quality local produce, creating a beautiful place to eat, drink, mooch and meet some animals, and really putting itself at the heart of the community.
A farm shop, restaurant and deli, it’s been through a rollercoaster few years, helping everyone during lockdown, staging some great events, and winning various awards and accolades.
The Farm is now being taken on by Cobbs Farm, a leading operator of high-quality farm shops, taking the company’s number of sites to five.
Tom Newey, CEO of Cobbs Farm Co., said: “We are thrilled to be taking over The Farm Stratford and expanding our presence in the local community of Stratford on Avon.
“We share The Farm Stratford’s commitment to supporting local, quality and regional producers, and we look forward to building on the success already created by The Wells family and their fantastic team.”
Charlie Wells, Managing Director of The Farm Stratford said, “We couldn’t be prouder of the business today, after some challenging years since we launched in 2019, we have gone from strength to strength with the amazing support of the team here.
“This acquisition by Cobbs represents an excellent opportunity for the business to grow and develop over the coming years.”
It’s not a complete goodbye from the Wells family. They plan to renovate the existing,
derelict buildings that are located on the site. The old tractor shed will be developed into a 0-4 children’s day nursery that specialises in outdoor learning and our newly refurbished poly tunnels will become a garden centre, with sensory learning for children in an alternate education centre, Flourish and future day nursery.
